Biography

William McConchie lived in Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand.

William was born on the 28 April 1868 in Nelson, New Zealand, he is the son of William McConchie and Hesther (Steer) McConchie Esther. ^[1]

He married Sabina Rosella (Wells) McConchie on the 30 April 1892 at the Nelson Presbyterian Church, Nelson New Zealand.^[2] They had about four children;

1. Charles William McConchie, b. 1893 - ?
2. Percy Morris McConchie, b. 1895 - 1981,
3. Eva May McConchie, b. 1897 - ?
4. Leslie Roy McConchie, b. 1902 - 1978.

Sadly Sabina passed away in 1930 and William remarried Henrietta (Paterson) McConchie after 1930 in Nelson, New Zealand.

William occupation was a carpenter.

William passed away on the 13 November 1943 in Nelson, New Zealand, age 74, and was buried on the 15 November 1943 at the Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson, Nelson City, Nelson, New Zealand, Plot New Presbyterian Block 01, Plot, 025A. ^[3]

The Southern Star Lodge - Freemasonry - The ceremony of installation of the Worshipful Master Elect and the investiture of officers in connection with the Southern Star Lodge No. 735 E.C. took place last evening when there was a large gathering of brethren including members of sister lodges of the district and visitors. Bro. William McConchie was duly installed as Worshipful Master by bro. D. Mackay, P.M., the officers being invested by the newly installed W.M. assisted by various Past Masters, Bro. E. Richards, P.M., acting as director of ceremonies.
