Biography
According to Military service attestation papers Edward McConchie was born 21st January, 1891, in New Zealand, the son of a Scottish father and an Australian mother. He worked as a plasterer, and gave his wife as next-of-kin: Amy Isobel McConchie of Maori Road, Nelson. They had three children under 16 years of age. [1]
Andrew was the son of William McConchie and Esther Steer.
He married Amy Isabel Foulds in 1921
They had five sons:
Edward McConchie passed away 2nd March, 1966, aged 74 years. His cremated remains were interred in the Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson. In 1977, his wife was interred in the same family plot. His individual plaque reads: [2]
