Charles married Lavinia Nellie (Allwood) McConchie on the 28 February 1918 - Gonville Methodist Church, Wanganui, New Zealand. They had about four children;

Charles passed away on the 24 September 1971 in the Wellington Hospital, Wellington, New Zealand, age 78 .[2] he was buried in the Karori Cemetery and Crematorium, Wellington, Wellington City, Wellington, New Zealand. Plot: Soldiers Ashes, 117. [3]
