Thomas J. Evans Taken by Death In West Scranton
Thomas J. Evans, 1132 St. Ann's St., a native of Wales and a resident of this city most of his life, died yesterday afternoon at home after a two-week illness.
Mr. Evans, employed for the past nine years as a machinist at the Wesel Manufacturing Co., was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David X. Evans.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Gwendolyn Lewis; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Henneforth, Philadelphia, and Miss Gwendolyn Evans, a student nurse at Moses Taylor Hospital; a son, Maj. David L. Evans. U.S. Army, Germany; two brothers, Chester, this city, and William, Dunmore; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Maxion, this city, and Mrs. Helen Lane, Binghamton. N.Y., and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements, in charge of Walter H. Davies, will be announced.[4]
