William S. Evans Of Dunmore Dies
William S. Evans, 57, of 319 North Apple St., Dunmore, died Saturday at home after an illness.
Son of the late David and Caroline Sekol Evans, he was born in West Scranton and lived in Dunmore 35 years. Mr. Evans was a dispatcher for the Dunmore Taxi Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Dunmore, and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Kelly; a daughter, Mrs. James Callahan, Fairless Hills, Pa.; three sons, William Jr., and Edward, Binghamton; and John, Dunmore; a sister, Mrs. William Lane, Binghamton; two stepsisters, Mrs. Raymond Ives and Mrs. Mary Maxiam, Binghamton; two stepbrothers, Richard Melenric, Allentown, and Chester Evans, this city.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 9 A.M. from the Morell Funeral Home, 301 Chestnut St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 in St. Mary's Church. Burial Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 P.M.[5]
