Shirley was born about 1908. He is the son of John McConchie and Ida Taylor. He is listed with his parents on the 1910 Census,^[1] the 1920 Census,^[2] and the 1930 Census.^[3] He married Gladys Edith Groves in January of 1936.^[4] He passed away in December of 1984 at the age of 77.^[5][6]
