Native Virginian

John was born in 1869 to Robert and Mary Coleman Brown McConchie. He is listed with his parents on the 1880 Census.^[1] John McConchie was first married to Georgianna Taylor between 1885-1887 (marriage record needed). The couple had at least one child before Georgianna passed away in 1893. They had a daughter: Vernessa whom was born on October 7, 1899, married Crismond Davenport, and passed away on September 29, 1966 in Stafford, Virginia.^[2]

After Georgianna passed away John was married to her younger sister; Ida Catherine Taylor on November 1, 1893.^[3] The couple are listed together on the 1900 Census,^[4] the 1910 Census,^[5] the 1920 Census,^[6] and the 1930 Census.^[7] The census records indicate that John and Ida had at least nine children. He passed away in 1937 at the age of 68.^{[8] [9]}
