Biography
John McConchie (or John Conchy) was born or baptised on 15 November 1819. He is the son of Freeland McConchie and Janet Sturgeon.[1]
At the time of the 1841 Census John (although his age was given as 15) was living in Milburn St, Kirkcudbright with his parents and brothers. John was an apprentice ship's carpenter.[2]
