Marcelline was baptized 1 Aug 1840 in Memramcook.[1] She is the daughter of Bénoni Leblanc and Marie Landry.

In the 1861 census Marslane, age 16, was in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[2] She was listed with her widowed father Belaney and her siblings.

Marcelline married André LeBlanc on 20 Sep 1870 in Grande-Digue.[3][4] Their parents were not named in the marriage record. He was noted as being from the parish of Dorchester and she was from the parish of Shediac. Witnesses were Zozime Landry and Mathilde Casey. Their children were:

  1. Marie Virginie "Jane" LeBlanc (born 12 Oct 1871)
  2. Elise LeBlanc (born 23 May 1874)
  3. Joseph Martin "Luther" LeBlanc (born 18 May 1875)
  4. Louise LeBlanc (born 27 Dec 1877)
  5. Jean Bénoni LeBlanc (born 28 Feb 1879)
  6. Thomas Aldéric LeBlanc (born 27 Jul 1880)

In the 1891 census Martha, age 48, was in Dorchester, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[5] She was listed with her husband Andrew and children Jane [Virginie], Luther, Louisa, John, and Isaac.

In the 1911 census Martha, age 70, was a wife in Dorchester Village, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[7][8] She was listed with her husband Andrew, daughter Janey [Virginia], and son John B.

Marcelline died on 26 Jul 1919 in Memramcook, aged 78.[9]

Research Notes

Marcelline LeBlanc who married Andre Leblanc was likely the daughter of Bénoni Leblanc and Marie Landry:

  • Her date of birth in the 1901 census was 1 Aug 1840, which matches exactly with the baptism date of Marcelline LeBlanc, daughter of Bénoni
  • In her 1870 marriage record, it indicates she was from Shediac. The daughter of Bénoni was living in Shediac in the 1861 census, and her parents were both buried in Grande-Digue (where Marcelline's marriage was recorded).
