Just a friendly reminder of WikiTree's naming guidelines and capitalization. ALL CAPS are not recommended in name fields. There are just a few profiles with capitalized last names that need adjustment: TRAHAN-1817, PAVY-152, PAVY-151. Thanks!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
I saw you did some work on James Bowie FMC and I was hoping you could help me out. While researching a profile I was working on a site mentioned that the individual was descended from James, but I'm not clear on why this is notable. I can't find information on why James Bowie FMC is important. So ... why is he important? TIA for anything you can tell me,
HI, Ronnie, I am a co-leader of the Acadian project. With your name I have no doubt you have Acadian Ancestors! We have almost 12,000 Acadians already on WikiTree so it is likely that your ancestors are already here. I'd be glad to help you get connected. Feel free to send me a name and I'll see if I can find them.
The most important thing to realize is that we really don't want duplicates. It causes system problems and overload. So it's best to search for these older ancestors carefully first before making a new profile. Anything before 1760, especially. I encourage you to use the search boxes at the top of each page to put in names and look for an existing profile. If you don't find the one you are looking for, it would be good if you contacted me first to see if I can help. At least for a while until you get the whole hang of WikiTree.
We also work closely with the Louisiana Family project where many Acadians ended up, as you know. I can connect you with experts in that area if you need.
Best wishes in finding your family!
Cindy Bourque Cooper, Acadian Project co-leader
Hello, I am doing my best not to create Duplicates and if I do I try my best to Delete mine and connect to existing ancestor. I have already found several of them and connected to them. So does this mean I am able to see the project? Thanks.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
