Biography

Mary was born in 1726 and baptised at Haworth, Yorkshire, in November 1726, "John and Mary twin children of Joshua Shackleton, Stanbury".^[1][2]

She married Robert Heaton at Bradford on 29 December 1757. Robert Heaton, gentleman, and Mary Shackleton spinster, both of that parish, both signed, witnesses John Greenwood and Robert Ward.^[3][4]

Mary died on 16 October 1761 and was buried at Haworth on 19 October 1761.^[5][6] (The indexed burials show 1 October but the register shows 19 October).

Mary was buried in the same grave as her mother-in-law: "The Body of Rebecca Wife of Michael Heaton of Ponden lies here under Interred July 30th 1733 Aged 42. Also the Body of Mary the Wife of Robert Heaton of Ponden who departed this Life October the 16th in the Year of OUR LORD 1761 In the 35th Year of her Age."^[7]
