Mary was born in 1860. She passed away in 1893.[1]

Obituary & Funeral

Mrs. Mary J. Evans, wife of Mr. David Evans of avenue C, Bellevue, died at 8:20 o’clock on Sunday evening after an illness with Bright’s disease lasting two months. Deceased had not been well for several months, but her sickness was not considered serious until a few days ago, when she gradually grew worse. She was born in Rhymney, Wales, and was about 35 years of age. Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband and two children. She was a well known resident of the above community, an estimable woman and exceedingly popular. The funeral services will take place to-morrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, at the First Welsh Congregational church on South Main avenue, where the deceased was a member, the pastor, Rev. David Jones and Rev. D.P. Jones of the Tabernacle Congregational church officiating. Interment will be made in Washburn street cemetery.[2]
Mrs. Daniel[sic] Evans Dead
Mrs. Mary Jane Evans, wife of Daniel Evans, died late on Sunday evening at her home on Avenue C, Bellevue. She was an earnest Christian woman, possessing many fine qualities. She was 38 years of age. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Services will be held in the Bellevue Welsh Calvinistic Methodist church, by Rev. J.T. Morris. Interment in the Washburn Street cemetery.[3]
The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary J. Evans of Avenue C, Bellevue, took place yesterday and was well attended. Brief services were held at the family residence after which they were continued in the First Welsh Congregational church on South Main avenue, where the pastor, Rev. David Jones, and Rev. D.P. Jones, of the Tabernacle Congregational church officiated. Both clergymen spoke in the Welsh language and eulogized the many good qualities of the deceased, who had always led a pure and noble life. The floral contributions were numerous and pretty. Interment was made in Washburn street cemetery. The pall bearers were: Messrs. Evan Evans, Samuel J. Davies, Thomas J. Evans, George Morgan, John Jenkins and David Thomas.[4]
