In the Canada Census 1881 at Minto Township, Maggie D. Ovens was listed in the household of her father, as 13 years old, born in Scotland and attending school. She was living with her parents and her siblings: Isibella, Walter, Mary Ann and James.[3]
Margaret Ovens appeared in the household of her father for the 1891 Census of Canada at Minto Township, as 22 years old, born in Ontario of Scottish descent. It was noted that she was able to read and write, and was living with her parents and her siblings: Walter, Mary, James and Cristie.[4]
