Biography

William McConchie (also spelt Conkey) was born between 1802 and 1803 in Ireland. He was the son of William McConchie and Margaret (Paton) McConchie.

William was a Stonemason.

William married Agnes McCormick on 21 February 1826 at Inch, Wigtownshire.^[1]

William died at the age of about 74 on 18 August 1876 at 13 Trade St, Inch, Wigtownshire, Scotland.William's death (age 74) was registered in 1876 in the Stranraer district.^[2]

William was buried after 18 August 1876 in Inch Old Parish Churchyard, grounds of Lochinch CastleWilliam's death (age 74) was registered in 1876 in the Stranraer district.

From the MI from Inch Old Parish Church and Churchyard Book, published by Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society - No.79 - Erected by John McConchie in memory of his father William McConchie whodied 18 August 1876 aged 75 years. Also his mother Agnes McCormick who died 29 October 1882 aged 88 years. Also his aunt Margaret McConchie who died 14 June 1881 aged 70 years and his brother Samuel McConchie who died 6 May 1886 aged 68 years.
