Biography
Samuel was born on 4 Aug 1891in Belfast, County Antrim. [1]
He married Martha Hyndman on 25 Dec 1920 at Malone Presbyterian Church, Malone Road, Belfast. [2] They had 3 children: Samuel James Martin Feb 1922 to Oct 2013, Doreen Apr 1925 to May 1925 and Edna 1924 to Feb 1925.
He started work as an Assistant in a Grocers Store and eventually ran his own grocer shop for many years in Isoline Street , Belfast.
He passed away on 6 Feb 1963 and was buried in Belfast City Cemetery- Glenalina Extension Grave L260 [3]along with his wife and 2 older children . At the time there was an exceptionally heavy snowfall and the mourners could not get to the grave. His committal took place in the the standing church on site, called the Mortuary Chapel. He was later buried from there.
