Marie Blanche was a housewife , she enjoyed being with her family . She enjoyed cooking and listen to the radio . She loved living on the farm where , she lived most of her life .Back then Girouardville was just a dirt road . She and Alphée worked very hard .
She was a very strong lady having lost many children, but kept on going for the family . She grew up in a different era when the was no electric in the house , she saw many changes in her life going from no radio and tv and electricity and hand electric lights . Education was very important for my grandparents All their children went to the Superior School at 133 Main Street , She and Alphée taught then to repeat family members and other people. She used to sat in her rocking chair and listen to the radio and on Sunday she listened to the Mass .
She taught her daughter's to cook and everything else. The day her son house got on fire she could see it was a big fire from home . She wore about Ovila and his family . She had a strong bond to her grandson and he with her ,it lasted until her death Roméo was born in her bedroom downstairs in the back of the house , He lived there for a while when after he was born , He would visited her very often . Marie-Blanche died from cancer, in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent , Hospital .
Sincerely, Your distant cousin, Jeannette (Martin-Brideau) Saladino

I remember sitting on the front porch when she was cooking and the smell of homemade fresh bread hot out of the oven . I always had a fresh slice of bread with caramel spread on top it was a great time back then . It was like being on top of the world . I remember picking blueberry on the side of the road and she would make pies , it was great .
Every time i go to the farm , it brings me back to that time . I have many great memories of the farm .
