Note: Know all men by these presents, that I, Alice Barnard, the wife of MrWilliam Barnard, of Chrltowne, do acknowledg that I have sould, and amfully payed therefore, unto Abraham Jaquith, one house, scituate withoutthe Neck, which once pertained to Ezekiell Richeson, with a parcell ofland lying within and between the upper corner post of the house, andrunning with a straight line to the Garden of the aforesayd AbrahamJaquith, which house, land and all the Apurtenances thertoo pertaining,I Alice Barnard, with the consent and in the behalfe of my husband, MrWilliam Barnard, doe hereby Resigne all me Right, titles and Interests,and my husband's, or any from us, unto the sayd Abraham Jaquith, to behis and his heirs for ever.
As apeareth by me hand set to the paper of the sale, in the presence ofMr Increase Nowel, the 17th of the 10th moneth, 1649.[4]

He lived in Charlestown where he was admitted to the First Church of Charlestown in Octoberof 1643. The town is also referenced in his father-in-law's will. Savage says: JAQUITH, ABRAHAM, Charlestown, m. Ann, d. of James Jordan of Dedham, whither he soon rem. I think, had Abraham, b. 19 Dec. 1644; Mary, 3 Nov. 1646; and three other ch. wh. were all rememb. in the will of gr.f. Jordan. He was freem. 1656, writ[ten as] "Jackewish," when the spell. was by sound.
The ancestors of the Jaquiths were French Huguenots who first fled France before 1628, spent time in Cornwall, England, and are believed to have returned temporarily to France before departing for America early in 1643.
