Question, when starting a new profile you provide a space for a middle name as well as gender, however when adding a child to a family member those two things are missing and when I type in both given and middle names on the given name space you kick it back and ask me if one is a middle name. why not use the same form for both?

Something has been bothering me for some time now. In many cases I know the name of a husband or wife, or mother and father but because I do not know the date of birth and date of death I'm not allowed to add that person, Just knowing the name of the spouse is very helpful. someone else may know the dob and dod, Can we fix this?

Thank you for the message, Edward. Best approach for adding info to profiles varies with what you are comfortable with. My approach is to 1st check how active the PM has been by clicking their contributions on the yellow line of the profile info (top left). Some profiles where added years ago and the PM hasn't been on WikiTree since so I feel free to add/edit as needed, being sure to post sources for the changes I make.

If the PM has been online in the past few months, I request to be added to the trusted list (look Up under Collaboration). If the profile isn't open then this is for sure 1st step. If adding a lot of info, sometimes I post it in the comment box and return another day a see if they've added it to Bio. If they’ve not done so, then I usually feel OK with doing it myself

Thank you for helping grow WikiTree - Patt

The best place to post your Josey Genealogy link would be on your page or a frees space page.

The Josey Genealogy Page on WikiTree is a page created from all the pages on wikiTree with the name Josey, it isn't a static page and there is no option for adding any kind of verbiage to it that isn't system created.

You could also create a Free Space Profile for this information. Click on ADD from the drop down menu's top right, then scroll down to New Thing and add it just like you add your profile. You can describe your information and link to it from there.

Josey Genealogy

Anyone researching the Josey family enter House of Josey in your search bar and clik on it. Edward "Bud" Josey and his wife Marion spent years researching this family and in 1995 published 8 large volumes with tons of info. the site contains lots of info as well as pictures of our Josey family.

Hey Edward,

In answer to your question, yes you can add information to any open profile, making sure to let the profile manger know what you are up to. WikiTree is all about collaboration, you can read more about this here.

If the profile isn't open you can post what information you have to the comments section - always post sources for the information.

As you are aware, you can also request to be on the trusted list.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Mags

No. She is still living. I suggest you go to California Birth Records and do some searching there. You will get many people with the last name Rashe.

I have read the rules and I agree with them...I like that so far people seem courteous and I like the fact that this site offers free genealogy to its members. I believe in that...Edward
