Edward was born in 1834. He was the son of Charles Ellis and Louisa Stracey.

He lived at Wyddiall Hall, Buntingford, Hertfordshire, England.

He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford in 1853 and he graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1857 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).

Edward married Louisa Harriott Kingscote (daughter of Colonel Thomas Henry Kingscote and Hon. Harriott Mary Anne Bloomfield) on 28 July 1863 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, England.

They had 4 children.

He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)

Sadly he passed away in 1870 at the age of 36.^[1]
