Notes for JABESH HEATON, SR.: PROOF:

Dedham & Wrentham records show the birth of his father Samuel;
Dedham V.R. shows his father Samuel married Sarah Hawes Dec 10, 1706;
"Vital Records of Wrentham to 1850:"/Baldwin, Vol 1,pg 122 shows birth of Jabez/Jabesh shows parents Samuel & Sarah; I have his B/C;
They moved to Tolland, Connecticut for a time around 1721 where 3 of his siblings were born. I viewed the vital records and found their births to Samuel & Sarah Eaton (should be Heaton);
Then in the "Connecticut Divorces Superior Court", pg 331 Samuel divorces Sarah Haws Sept 14, 1747 because she deserted them. (I believe this is about the time they moved to N.J.)
"History of Morris Co. NJ with Illust. and Biog. Sketches"/Munsell,1st pg of Mount Olive Twp. states Samuel Heaton & 3 brothers came to Mount Olive, Morris Co. previous to 1753 from Wrentham, MA (I believe this is Samuel the father after his divorce, and 3 sons, Jabesh, Daniel and James)
" Archives of the State of New Jersey", Series I, vol 33, pg 230- Will of her father, Thomas Kent dated Nov 4, 1762; Mentions his daughter Abigail wife of Jabesh Eaton/Heaton; I have this Will;
"History of Sussex & Warren Cos, NJ" / Snell, pg 444; talks of Jabesh Heaton built the old mill but does not know when.
Morris Co, NJ Court Minutes of 1763, 1764, 1766 various entries such as Jury, sometimes referred to as Jabez Eaton,
Tax Records 1779-1795 shows Jabesh Heaton Sr with the SawMill until 1783, then Jabesh Heaton Jr. has Saw Mill afterwards and Jabesh Heaton Jr. is mentioned with it in several deeds;
Jabesh Heaton Sr. no longer on tax records after 1790, probably when he went to Greene Co, Pa. to live with his son Isaac 'Mason' Heaton;
"Mt. Olive Twp. Historical Journal Centennial" no page numbers;1st page Under 'Flanders 'it talks about Dec 17, 1770 Jabez Heaton of Roxbury bought a tract of 562 acres from Wm. Allen of Philadelphia;
"Mt. Olive Twp. Historical Journal Centennial" no page numbers;2nd page Under 'Flanders' In 1763 Jasibeth / Jabesh Heaton sold land to John Ayers which comprises the land the village now stands;
"Mt. Olive Twp. Historical Journal Centennial" no page numbers; I have a copy of this deed; 4th page Under 'Flanders' states, Also on Oct 3,1789 Jabesh Heaton Jr. conveyed by deed a tract of land to several men including Jabish Heaton all of NJ chosen and appointed to be trustees and to act in behalf of the society called Methodists, etc. etc.
"Early Germans of New Jersey"/chambers pg 142, 353, 400, 619 talks about Jabesh Heaton Sr. bought 563 acres of land from Wm. Allen in Dec 1,1770;and whose son Jabesh Heaton Jr. and wife conveyed by deed bearing date Oct 3, 1789 the land to trustees of the Society called "Methodist". The deed of Jabesh Sr. dated 1770I could not locate yet, but I have the deed by Jabesh Jr. conveying to the Methodist in 1789, for some reason it was not officially recorded until Oct 14, 1841.
