Biography
Sylvain Gautreau was born about 9 Apr 1852 in Cap-Pele.[1] He was the son of Lazare Gautreau and Elizabeth Melanson.
Sylvain married Barbe LeBlanc on 15 Jan 1877 in Saint Mary.[2][3] They were both noted as being from the parish of St. Paul. Witnesses were Daniel LeBlanc and Marguerite Gautreau.
In the 1901 census Sylvain, age 48, labourer, was the head of household in Moncton (City), Westmorland, New Brunswick.[4] His date of birth was given as 9 Apr 1852.
Sylvain died on 15 Dec 1922 in Moncton.[1] The informant on his death record was his son-in-law Frank Bastarache. He was buried in Shediac Road Roman Catholic Cemetery.[5]
