I began researching my ancestry on WikiTree after Elizabeth Warren made news about her alleged Cherokee ancestry. I knew that my grandmother from Oklahoma had two Cherokee half-sisters, but virtually nothing else was known about her background as she was put on a train to California when she was a very young girl around the time that her mother had passed away. Unfortunately I did not find any direct Cherokee ancestors for myself, but thanks to the wonderful work by Kathie and others I did learn that my great grandmother's first husband was descended from a very important leader of the Cherokee Nation, Hair (De-Go-S-Ka) Conrad!
