Non catholic ancestors in Portugal

Hello

As far as I am aware, most of the portuguese records before the 20th century come from catholic churches: baptism, wedding, and burial records. I have been told I have Jewish ancestors, I'm wondering how would I be able to find jewish people that lived in Portugal back then, I doubt they'd have any records in a catholic church.

Also curious for other religions. Maybe I have protestant or even muslim ancestors? Unlikely, given how catholic Portugal has been historically. But who knows?
