Hello, I am seeking help. With Family in Wales.
#1 In the 1841 Census I have my GG Grandfather Abednego Bowen (1837-1896) living in Baglan with his family. I'm trying to trace both sides of his family before that time. His father John was born in Baglan (c1791-1851). His mother Catherine (nee Morgan?) was born in Aberdare (c1786-1861).
I'd like to identify both of their parents if possible, but I don't know where to search. Then next I'd like to search for for any generations following them thru their children. I only have info on their daughter Ann (married Thomas Henry) and of course Abednego, who came to the USA..
#2 In April, 1844 my GG grandfather William Evans came to the USA, docked in NYC, the disembarked with Family a few days later in Baltimore on "the Ohio" He is listed with his 2 day old daughter Margaret Evans, his wife Mary, and his daughter Ann. They left from Liverpool.
I'd like to find the family in Wales prior to their departure. Ann was born in 1833. Mary may have been his 2nd wife.
Ann's morther is listed on her death certificate as Mary Hetchins, But Margaret's is listed as Mary Williams.
Any help or enlightment would be appreciated. Thank you
