Marie Ancrum’s parentage.

Marie Ancrum is currently asserted to be the daughter of lord Robert Kerr and Margaret Maitland. This would also make her the great great granddaughter of King James IV of Scotland.

However, while Robert Kerr did have a daughter Mary, I’m finding no evidence that this Mary was wed to David Ancrum, or even that the Marie wed to David Ancrum was even a Kerr.

Is this another case of fabricated lineage?

Interesting that Robert Ker was involved in the murder of  William Ker of Ancrum here?   https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Dictionary_of_National_Biography,_1885-1900/Ker,_Robert_(1570%3F-1650)

I am unable to find anything on Marie Ker Ancrum, however it is interesting that they would have a Mary and a Marie (Marie means Mary)
