Cyprian Watson was born on 1 June 1737 and later moved to the Stillwater area when it was still wilderness. He cleared the land and started a farm about 3 miles from Stillwater, New York. He participated in the Revolutionary War battles in the area which led to General Burgoyne's surrender on 17 Oct 1777. He died on 11 Sept 1807.
