Biography

Cuthbert Watkin was christened by his parents Cuthbert and Isabella on July 30th 1797 in Newcastle upon Tyne^[1]

On November 6th 1819, Cuthbert Watkin married Hannah Watson in Horton, Northumberland^[2]

In 1841, 44 year old Cuthbert is living with his wife and children in Gateshead, Durham^[3]

In 1851, 54 year old Cuthbert is living with his wife and children in Oxclose, Durham and his occupation is given as both "pitman" and "pauper"^[4]

In 1861, 63 year old Cuthbert is living with his wife and children in Handon Hold, Durham and he has now retired from working in the coal mine^[5]

The death of 75 year old Cuthbert was recorded in the first quarter of 1873 in Durham^[6]
