Captain Benjamin Vail Jr. was Killed in Action during American Revolution.

Benjamin Vail was born in 1739. Benjamin Vail was the son of Benjamin Vail and Mary Paine. He married Elizabeth Stillwell and had 8 children: Elizabeth, Julia Ann, Benjamin, Alsop, Eleanor, Mary, John, and Isaac.

Benjamin Vail served in the American Revolution as a Captain with Colonel John Hathorn Hawthorne-3983 4th Regiment, Orange Co, NY Militia. [1]

He served as a Captain in 4th Regiment, Orange Co, NY Militia, under Colonel Tustin, Jr. - Benjamin Tusten Tusten-3 [2]

He commanded a company in the militia regiment of Col. Tustin, Jr. and was killed in the Battle of Minisink in 1779. "Capt Vail was wounded in the battle and afterwards was found seated on a rock and bleeding profusely. He was killed by a Tory in this situation."
