Amateur genealogist. My tree is documented/maintained in Ancestry.ca (16k entries and counting !).
As retirement is here, I intend to spend more time on that hobby. I have confirmed ancestry in France (all around, but strong presence in Normandy, Brittany, Perche, Aquitaine, Basque Country), England, Irlande, Germany, British Channel Islands of Guernsey & Jersey), Switzerland, Belgium) and my direct maternal line is Mi'kmaq (aboriginal tribe of Eastern Canada).
My parents originate from the north shore of the Gaspe Peninsula; as it is a region with low population count, it is often neglected from a research/documentation point of view. So part of my activities is to go through the parishes to connect / document their register's entries to my tree.
