Archibald McDonald was born in Inverness-shire on 16 February 1836.
Archibald emigrated to Rupert's Land in 1854, and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company for 55 years, retiring as a Chief Factor in 1911.
Archibald died in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1915, and was buried in Saint John's Anglican Cathedral Cemetery, Winnipeg, Manitoba.[1]
