Biography

Robert Bruce McConchie, known as Bruce, was born in 1887 in Richmond, Victoria. He was the son of Henrietta (Agnew) McConchie and James Angus McConchie.^[1]

He married Edna Willard Vale Taylor in 1916.^[2]

Bruce McConchie died on 26 June 1943 in Geelong, aged 57.^[3][4][5][6] He was buried in Geelong Eastern Cemetery.^[7]

McCONCHIE The death occurred at Geelong on Saturday of Rev R. B. McConchie, 57, former minister at Newtown Methodist Church. Mr. McConchie was minister at Golden Square Methodist Church, Bendigo, before going to Geelong in 1934. He was in charge at Newtown from 1934 until 1938, ill health necessitating his retirement. He resumed his ministry at Stawell in 1941, and after 12 months of service there illness again compelled him to retire. He has left a widow and 5 children. A private funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at the Eastern Cemetery, Geelong."
