Frank Robert Martin is the son of Henry Martin and Eliza Whelchel. He was born in Gordon County, Georgia. He married Ida Austin Wimpy in 1905 in Lumpkin County, Georgia. She had four children.

Frank died on 20 Apr 1934 of pneumonia in the Wahoo District (#1051) of Lumpkin County, Georgia. He was buried at Hickory Grove Church in that district.

• Date of birth: The 1880 census infers his birthdate was 1876; the 1900 infers 1864, but his death certificate states 1871 and that he was 68 years old. The informant is his sibling.
