• The Late Mrs. Hugh Newham
• The death occurred on Wednesday last at her residence, Brougham street, Cowra, of Mrs. Mary Newham, wife of Mr. Hugh Newham, at the age of 59 years. The deceased lady had only been ill some two weeks, the cause of death being chronic nephritis and cardiac failure. The deceased lady, who was a native of Melbourne (Vic.), came to Cowra many years ago, and had resided here almost continuously, except for a brief period in which the family took up their residence at Eugowra. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martin, her father practising in Cowra for many years as a Veterinary Surgeon. Besides a sorrowing husband the following members of the family are left to mourn the loss of a loving and affectionate wife and mother: Mrs. Brice (Mosman), Misses Nellie, Lillian, and May, Messrs. Reginald and Eric. The funeral took place to the Catholic cemetery yesterday, Arch deacon O'Kennedy officiating at the grave. Messrs J. P. Simeon and Sons carried out the arrangements. We join with the many friends of the bereaved family in tendering our sincere sympathy in their sad bereavement.
