Marie Thècle Martin was born on 23 Mar 1816 and was baptized the next day in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish in Rivière-Ouelle, Kamouraska, Bas-Canada. She was the daughter of Paschal Martin and Charlotte Dubé. Sponsors for Thècle's baptism were Joseph Desjardins and Thècle Martin, wife of Louis Gagnon; neither sponsor signed the register.
At age 17 Marie Thècle married Benjamin Élzeard Côté on 4 Feb 1834 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish in Rivière-Ouelle, Kamouraska, Bas-Canada. The couple received a dispensation for two banns of marriage and for the fourth degree of consanguiinty.
She passed away in 1892.
