William Moulton Marston was an inventor and writer best remembered for his creation of the comic book character Wonder Woman. The two women, his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston, and their polyamorous life partner, Olive Byrne, greatly influenced Wonder Woman's creation.

According to Jill Lepore (Lepore, Jill. The Secret History of Wonder Woman, New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 2014, ISBN 9780385354042) he is descended through his mother from Sir Thomas (V) de Moulton of Langley, a Magna Carta baron.
