William was born in 1893. He was the son of John Marston.
William Marston served in the Army during World War 1 (service number 2/1529 ). He gave his next of kin as J. Marston, of 39 Harrow Street, Dunedin,He embarked 17 April 1915 aboard HMNZT 21 or HMNZT 22 or HMNZT 23 the vessels Willochra or Knight Templar or Waitomo. He was a Gunner in the New Zealand Field Artillery 4th Reinforcements [1] His brother James was killed on active service in 1916
He married Lillian Irene Arthur in 1925 [2] He passed away in 1970 age 77 [3] and is buried at Andersons Bay RSA Cemetery, managed by the Dunedin City Council (Block 5SF, Plot 20)
