Hepzibah Jones was born at Concord, Massachusetts on May 6, 1734, daughter of Ephraim Jones and Mary Ayres. [1]
She married Benjamin Hall of Medford, Massachusetts, at Concord on May 3, 1753. [2] He was born at Medford on January 27, 1731, son of Andrew and Abigail (Walker) Hall. [3]
In the 1762 division of her father Ephraim Jone's estate, among the heirs is listed
second daughter Hepzibah Hall. having already received a portion - £66: 13:4[4]
Hepzibah died at Medford on August 11, 1790 aged 56. [3]
Benjamin Hall Jr., Ephraim Hall, Andrew Hall, Fitch Hall, John Brown Fitch & his wife Hepzibah were six of the twenty-two grantors in a 1793 quitclaim who identified themselves as the "heirs of our father and grandfather Ephraim Jones late of Concord" and who conveyed property "which was assigned to our mother and grandmother Mary Ayres then Mary Woolcott the late relict and widow of said Ephraim Jone[s] deceased as her dower or third." [5]
Given the above quitclaim and other evidence for the Hall family, it is reasonable to conclude that the above grantors Benjamin, Ephraim, Andrew, Fitch & Hepzibah were the surviving grandchildren of Ephraim and Mary (Hayward) Jones by their deceased daughter Hepzibah who died in 1790.
