Biography

William was born about 1899. ^[1] He was the son of William Johnson and Annie Reavey.

He was baptised on 27 July 1899 at St. James, Handsworth, Stafford, England^[2]

He lived with his parents and two siblings in Handsworth, Staffordshire, England.

Sadly his brother Frederick was killed in action in 1916 at the age of 23.

William served in the Royal Air Force in the 1st World War:

At the age of 35 he married 34 year old Evelyn Jessie Johnson (the daughter of Henry James Johnson) on 22 September 1934 in Wellington, Holy Trinity, Surrey, England, after Banns. His occupation was recorded as Poultry Farmer. The witnesses were R J Aston and S D Johnson.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was living at 52 Glynde Road, Aldridge, Staffordshire, England with his wife Evelyn and his parents William and Annie.

William passed away in 1980 at the age of about 81.^[3] His Will was proved on 23 February 1981 at Nottingham.
