Swan Johnson was killed in the Mansfield Iron Mine In rush of Water on 9/28/1893
Swan was one of twenty-seven miners killed on 28 Sept 1893 in the Mansfield Iron Mine disaster. The miners were drowned when an inrush of water flooded the mine. [1]
Don’t confuse this Swan Johnson with the one who lived in Menominee, Michigan. That Swan Johnson was married and later moved to Nebraska.
Swan Johnson is a name of Swedish origin, it is just speculation that this Swan was from Sweden.
