Robert (Bobby) West Jr. was born January 29, 1958, in Manistee, Michigan, to Robert Jester and Marian Fortier. He had two daughters with Jill St John. He died on November 23, 2017, in his hometown at the age of 59, and was buried there. He had two brothers and four sisters.

Robert West Johnson Jr. was born and died in Manistee. Bobby attended Guardian Angels Church and school, and was a graduate of Manistee High School.
He and Jill married in Wellston. They had two daughters, Kerry and Dana. He was employed by Century Boat Company and as a semi-truck driver accompanied by a chihuahua, Cassie.
He was self-employed, repairing boats in the Grand Rapids area where he designed and built, with Bruce Tamolis, a fiberglass boat named Keri which was written about in the Manistee News Advocate in 2005.
He created large fiberglass tomatoes for the produce industry in Cleveland and parts for General Motors.
He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in April, 2016. With his brother Steve as his caretaker, ably assisted in his last weeks by Munson Hospice, he was kept comfortable by nurses and aides at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility until Nov. 23, 2017, at age 59.
Left to mourn: families of mother Marian and brothers Steve, Vern, sisters Sharon, Margaret and Chris.
Passed on before: father Robert Sr.; sister Mary Lynne; maternal grandparents Larry and Neva, paternal grandparents Carl and Agnes.
Cremains burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
