Biography

The marriage records lists Benjamin's last name as Clemens or Clemence. They were married in Pelynt Oct. 11, 1816 with witnesses John jago and James Hill.

Benjamin was born Jan. 1, 1771 in Pelynt to parents Benjamin and Mary.

They had at least 4 children born in Pelynt, Cornwall. William in Feb. 1818, John in Feb. 1820, Benjamin in June 1822 and Rachael in Jan. 1825.

In 1841 they were living in Little Larnick Farm, Pelynt, Bodmin with Benjamin aged 70, Ann aged 50 their sons William aged 20 and Benjamin aged 15. Rachel Jago (Anne's sister) age 60 (born 1781) is also living with them.

Benjamin 's death is registered Jan/Feb/March 1843 in Liskeard. And a second Benjamin Clemence has a death registered July/Aug/Sept 1850. I am not sure which one is correct.

In 1851 Ann is still living in Liskeard with her sister Rachel a "pauper servant". They also have a nurse Ann Cook from Bodmin living with them.
