Biography

Mathias was a Friend (Quaker)

Mathias, born 6th of July, 1787 in Pasquotank NC, was the son of Lydia and Mordica Jackson. His ggggfather, William Jackson b.1650 was an early settler in Pasquotank, where Mathias lived, until early 1800's when he migrated to Washingon County Indiana, ^[1] where he married Polly (Trueblood) Jackson on 19 Sep 1816.^[2] Polly was also born in Pasquotank abt 1795.

According to the book History of Jackson Co Indiana,^[1] they relocated to Jackson Co., IN prior to 1825, where they had at least four children, listed below.^{[3] [1]}Mathias died on 24 June 1875 in Jackson Co. where he is buried. ^[4]
