Biography
Peter Jackson is a part of US Black heritage.
Peter was eldest the son of Sarah Unknown Jackson. According to the 1880 US Census, his mother was widowed and employed as a servant. Peter's father was born in Maryland. Peter was employed as a laborer and was single. He could not read or write.
Peter's siblings were: Milly, aged 17 and employed as a washerwoman; Mary, aged 15 and employed as a servant; and Willy, aged 10, and David, aged 5, who were both at school. David and Willy are listed as being Mulatto, while the rest of the family is listed as being Black.
