Biography
James was born in 1850 in Reading, Berkshire, England. The son of John Jackson and Maria Maslin. James's birth was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1850 in the Reading district.[1]
In the 1851 census James (age 9 Mo) was the son of John Jackson in Reading St Lawrence, Berkshire, England.[2] His mother died in 1854,[3]
In the 1861 census James (age 9) was the son of John Jackson in Reading, Reading St Mary, Berkshire, England.[4]
James married Mary Ann Wenman on 14 January 1867 in Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England.[5][6]
In the 1871 census James (age 20) was the head of household in Basingstoke, St Michael, Hampshire, England.[7]
James was divorced from Mary Ann Jackson in 1878.[8]
James's marriage to Fanny Beckett was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1880 in the Basingstoke district.[9]
In the 1881 census James (age 30), Rag Merchant, was the married head of household in Reading Rd Marine Stores, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.[10] James was left a widower in 1889.[11]
