Enter a personal reminiscence or story.
My father, Alex Pitts, told me that during prohibition his Uncle Andy was a rum-runner and he and his partner, an RCMP Officer, ran an illegal speakeasy in the basement of a hotel in Banff, Alberta. The story goes that they were never caught because Andy's partner always had advance warning of any impending raids.

He also said that Uncle Andy's past was a mystery, but he may have been involved with the Mob in the United States as on one occasion a couple of armed "goons" showed up wanting to talk to Andy, but Andy and his RCMP partner "got the drop on them," and told them to go home and never come back, and they did.

Whether either of these stories is truth, I don't know. Judith Jordan (Pitts-2939).
