Hi Narelle,

You asked for help with your English research and I can see you already have quite a few sources added to that profile. I suggest putting together what you have in a timeline and then look at the England Project research resources to see what is available in that time period and place.

Hello Narelle, I'm a member of the Nottinghamshire team on Wikitree and came across a couple of pre-1700 profiles you have created with incorrect birth dates and no primary sources (Leivers-156 and his wife). It would be much appreciated if you could ensure all pre-1700 profiles have at least one primary source in future, as per the guidance in the previous comment. I'll have a look and see if I can find any sources to add to these particular profiles.

Best wishes, Helen.

Hi Helen,

Thanks for your email Helen. I am current away on holidays and when I am back home, I will continue to work on my family tree, at the moment I have put in broad stokes but I have a long way to go to flesh out the details.

Kind regards, Narelle

Thanks Narelle and enjoy your travels! That's great that you plan to add more to WIkiTree, it's a great place to work. Just be aware that WikiTree is pretty strict on the requitement to add a reliable source to pre-1700 profiles at the time they're created. So when you create any more pre-1700 profiles just bear that in mind. Other online trees do not count as a reliable source but something like a baptism or marriage record is great. For post 1700 profiles it's more acceptable to put in the outline and then add more info later, although it's always good practice to add a reliable source at creation if possible.

Best wishes, Helen.

Hello Narelle,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hello Narelle,

Thanks for having a Big Heart and taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. You will want to read this After Adopting Orphans as it explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.
