Joseph Emerie Gaudet was born on August 27, 1930 in Saint-Paul, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Joseph Augustin Gaudet (1903–1973) and Appoline Cormier (1905–1996).

Emerie had a brother, Victor Gaudet (1933–2017).

Emerie died on August 27, 1973 in Saint-Paul, aged 43. He was buried in Saint Paul de Kent Catholic Cemetery, Saint-Paul, Kent County, New Brunswick.^[1]
