Biography
Robert Charles Henry Ewens was born on 15 August 1898 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, son of Charles Read Ewens (1858–1933) and Susannah Hawker (1876–1959).[1]
His siblings were:
- William Stanley Read Ewens (born 19 June 1897)
- Leonard Ewens (born 1 November 1899)
- Mabel Ewens (born 2 August 1902)
Robert married Isabella Lister McClintock (FamilySearch Profile)[2][3] (Daughter of Thomas Layburn McClintock (1863-1946) and Jessie Montgomery (Lister) McClintock (1865-1944)) on 15 February 1928 in New Zealand.[4]
Robert died on 9 October 1987 in Gore, Southland, New Zealand, aged 89.[5] He was buried in Gore Cemetery, Gore, Gore District, Southland, New Zealand (plot: Block 123.[6]
