I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the Military and War Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have no yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?

If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Mary, Project Coordinator, Military and War Project

Hi Matthew

This is the time for the annual check in with members of the Military and War Project for 2024. Have you been active during the last six months in the Military and War Project? Note that it is a requirement to respond to the Military and War Project Check-ins. Please respond to this message by clicking the reply button below this message, to post your answer. I look forward to hearing from you..

Many thanks,

Hi Matthew,

It is once again time for our annual Ireland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:

  1. If you would like to continue as an Ireland Project member. If your answer is yes, please tell us if you are happy with your current team, or if you would prefer to join a different one. If you are currently participating in more than one team we would appreciate you ranking them in their order of importance to you, from highest priority to lowest. This information will be helpful as we consider possible future changes to our team structure.
  2. In the past, the project has had a very minimal membership requirement (one contribution per year) for badged members to meet. Do you believe this is adequate, or should this requirement be increased? What do you believe would be a reasonable commitment to expect from all project members?
  3. How active have you been in the Ireland Project over the past year? Please choose one of the following options: a) I normally spend 1-5 hours per month helping achieve my team’s goals. b) I normally spend 6-10 hours per month helping achieve my team’s goals. c) I spend over 10 hours per month helping achieve my team’s goals. d) I am not able to contribute every month but have spent approximately ________ hours during the past year improving Irish profiles.
  4. Please provide feedback on any things you’d like to see the project do more of in the future.

You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you no longer are able to participate in the Ireland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.

Many thanks for all that so many of you have contributed to the project in the past year, and very special thanks to those who answered the project’s call and gave generously of their time to be part of Team Seanchaithe during the most recent connect-a-thon. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

It's time for the One Place Studies Project Check-In!

We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.

If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.

Cousin Pam, this is something I can do as well. I really just stopped by to see if Matthew was a "small genealogist." He seems to be making a big impact!

Matthew,

What a gift to my entire family your work is on the Alexander WIlmer Duff page!

I called my mother at once to tell her what you had done. We are working together through the 25 banker boxes full of memorabilia spanning 200 years of family history archived in a jumble by his daughter Dr Ella Good. I started this project one year ago, and I have just finished "the big sort" and we are now into the stage where we can finally comb through these incredible memories, everything from photo albums to hundreds of letters written from the trenches, diplomas, clippings, I can't even begin to list the wealth accumulated from dozens of ancestors, among which is all of A. Wilmer Duff's memorabilia and memories. His diaries, writings, publications and 50 years of letters written to his daughter sometimes at the rate of one per week. She appears to have kept them all. We just finished sorting them into order and they are finally slipcased and ready for some transcription. Over the holidays I focused my efforts on getting the online genealogies ready so I can share these memories effectively. With all this early archival work to get done before I could begin to focus on Wilmer's life, I haven't had a chance to read almost any of his work, and then I log in today and you have crafted such a beautiful framework of facts to build on! Thank YOU!

Hello Matthew,

Your name popped up in my EMAIL because you edited a profile William Harris Bishop. Even though our connection through William is marked as "uncertain," it's clear after reviewing your tree that we are related though your grandmother Melanson's family, and often on both sides of her family.

It was no surprise when I saw the New Brunswick locations, because my research into my own grandmother Elsie Bishop's family family has led me to New Brunswick, then into Quebec and the French fur traders and their First Nation wives.

All good wishes, Sue

Hi, Matthew!

Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Matthew,

As you will have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the Wales Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know which team(s) you would like to be in.

Please can you also send me your e-mail address? I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders, are in the Google Group, and receive an invitation to join our Discord server.

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the Wales Project that you respond to these check-ins.

Many thanks,

Hi Matthew!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi Matthew,

I see that you just adopted a pre-1700 profile. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Perhaps you'd like to try for the pre-1700 badge which is necessary for doing any work on a pre-1700 profile? Have a look at the requirements for working on Pre-1700 profiles. Good luck with your tree. pre-1700 profiles

I will take a look at those. Honestly, I adopted the profile because it's a direct ancestor of mine whose profile was orphaned and for almost no other reason. Very interested to learn more about Pre-1700. Many of my family lines are traceable into the 1400s and have been so researched.

Welcome Matthew

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member and welcome you to the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial. Please add as much information as you can, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
