Clara Lenora Halford, age 91, died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at her home in Corn, Oklahoma.

She was born in Choctaw County, Oklahoma May 27, 1910 to Em and Genie Whitworth Evans. She grew up and attended school in the Reed Community. On October 29, 1927, she married Wesley "Bud" Halford in Jester, OK. Bud and Clara lived and farmed in the Jester Community. They were active members of the Mangum Mounties, participating in Play Days, rodeos and parades. They were always admired and respected in their club endeavors.

He preceded her in death on may 27, 1988. At that time she moved to Corn, OK to be near her daughter. She enjoyed horses, fishing, reading and having coffee with friends. She was also a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, James Wesley Halford; a sister, Anne Booker and two brothers, Edward Evans and Dewey Evans.

Survivors include her children, Edna Gale Pitts and husband, Bill, of Corn, OK; Ila Rae Eagan and her husband, Orland, of Long Grove, OK and Weldon Halford and wife, Bennie, of Snyder; a sister, Ina Faye Morris of Tehachapi, CA; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Dodson Cemetery Association (#47740398)
